The Karst and Istria Regions

Due to its old town centres, the natural phenomena on the Istrian coast, nature parks, and the landscape, the Slovenian Istria Peninsula is a unique destination for the lovers of biking.

The Posavje Region
Embark on a mountain or on-road biking adventure. The trails are suitable for families, occasional bikers, and advanced recreational bikers. Individual biking trails are from 15 to 60 km long. Each route also has a shorter version and all routes are interconnected. In total, there are more than 1500 km of biking trails available.

The Podravje and Pomurje Regions
The numerous biking trails connecting and combining four different countries serve as a great starting point for healthy and active holidays. Mostly, the trails are easy, hence suitable for families and the elderly. More advanced bikers can head to the Goričko Hills, the Lendavske Gorice Hills, or to Jeruzalem Hills. Combine pampering yourself at the spas with active outdoor holidays at the Moravske Toplice spa. Take a cycling adventure along the rivers and ride along the Drava from Koroška to Slovenia’s oldest town, Ptuj, or experience the world along the Mura. In total, there are 10 marked trails with a total length of 480 km.
The Dolenjska Region
More than 1400 km of biking trails are available in the Dolenjska Region. Numerous biking routes run along the River Krka, leading you through wonderful nature, past many natural, cultural, and historical sites. Take a ride through Loški Potok, the forests of Kočevski Rog Plateau, climb up Mt. Mirna Gora, go to Čatež and continue along the River Kolpa, and then take the Baraga Trail, which takes you to the River Krka.
