The most beautiful panoramic view

Would you like to take away the most famous panoramic image of Bled and share it with your friends? Climb up to Ojstrica and Mala Osojnica, the two slopes rising above the west part of the lake. Go on a 20-30-minutes walk from Velika Zaka and enjoy a unique view of Bled lake with the island, Bled castle and the Karavanke mountains and Kamnik-Savinja Alps.

A hike along the Vintgar gorge

Experience the most unspoilt nature of Bled in the first tourist-regulated gorges in Slovenia. The 1.6 km long Vintgar gorge is cut between the majestic vertical rocks of the surrounding hills. When walking over wooden bridges and along galleries, observe the Radovna River with its pools, rapids and waterfalls, the mightiest of them being the 13 m high Šum waterfall. At the end of the gorge you can also see the single-arch stone bridge of the Bohinj railway rising above you.

Water adventures on the lake and the surrounding rivers

Find refreshment in the summer in the organised baths along Lake Bled, with Grajsko kopališče (“Castle Bathing Area”) standing out. Rent a boat from several spots around the lake and row on the lake. Go rafting or kayaking on the Sava Dolinka and Sava Bohinjka rivers. Lake Bled and the surrounding rivers are also an ideal destination for fishing. In the winter, when the lake freezes over, you can ice-skate or walk up to the island.

The tastes of local cuisine

Taste the local delicacies at Bled restaurants and at the stands of the Winter Fairytale and the Bled Days. Treat yourself to a famous Bled cream cake and discover the wealth of flavours of the traditional Slovenian dessert called potica. You can discover the authentic local flavours at excursion and tourist farms. Local family farms produce a local cheese from cow milk – Bled cheese.

Be part of the lively cultural and social pulse of Bled! The highlight of summer are the Bled Days culminating in Bled night, when over 10,000 lights in egg-shells glow. Enjoy concerts by world-renowned performers at the Okarina Festival Bled. Experience the Winter Fairytale in December. Be active on the most beautiful golf course

isit the oldest and largest golf course in Slovenia which is considered to be one of the most beautiful in Europe. The Royal Bled golf course is located above the canyon of the Sava River. Thus, you can enjoy the view of the Karavanke mountains and the Julian Alps while playing golf. The King's Course, with 18 holes, and the Lake Course, with 9 holes, offer plenty of opportunities for both beginners and professionals. A series of international golf tournaments takes place here.
