Castle gems

Apollonia, the traveller in love, will take you through the history of Negova Castle and the exhibitions in the castle rooms. Take a walk through the history of Pomurje at an exhibition of the Pomurje Museum at Murska Sobota Castle. Lendava Castle will take your breath away with exhibitions by extraordinary artists, and you can become the lord of the castle just for a day at Grad Castle in the Goričko Hills.

Vulkanija Adventure Park

Experience an eruption of a volcano that erupted in the area of the Goričko Hills three million years ago. Embark on an adventure underground and travel through Earth’s history. Learn about the geological processes that shaped Earth’s surface. Oli the Mole and Eza the Witch will accompany you on this unique adventure. Eza wishes to find the precious olivine minerals, which were thrown onto the Earth’s surface by the volcano.

Learn about the most diverse region of Slovenia when it comes to dialects, culture, and language by visiting many events, festivals, and living cultural heritage. Summer in Murska Sobota is brought to life by the Sobota Days Festival (Soboški dnevi), and visitors will be charmed by the Pomurje Summer Festival in Velika Polana or by the Vinarium Tower in Lendava. Fearless film buffs shouldn’t miss the Grossmann Fantastic Film and Wine Festival in Ljutomer.

An adrenaline-filled stroll amongst trees

Go on an adrenaline-filled experience amongst tree tops at the Adventure Park by Lake Bukovnica. Experience 5 different trails and 58 elements. To perfectly top off your day, also head to the “jungle”. Take a walk through the Tropical Garden in Dobrovnik with more than 900 exotic plant specimens.

From the saddle to the sky

Experience plains, exciting gentle wine-growing hills, and vast forests, as you are seated firmly in the saddle or in a comfortable horse-drawn carriage. The temperamental Ljutomer trotters will take your breath away if you visit horse races in Ljutomer, where you can also visit the Ljutomer Trotter Museum. Ride from Rakičan Manor and go to see the airport on horseback. Fly in an aeroplane or a hot-air balloon, and if you're brave enough, go skydiving!

Be energised

St Vitus Chapel stands in the embrace of old trees in the immediate vicinity of Lake Bukovnica, and next to it you can hear a source of water with special energy and numerous medicinal effects. The surrounding forest is a hiding place for 26 points with sources of beneficial and therapeutic energy. Such points can also be found in Razkrižje. There, you can also learn about the lives of our ancestors in an authentic prehistoric settlement in Šafarsko.

Peaceful romance

Experience romantic moments on the Island of Love. It was formed by the River Mura over time, and legend has it that this is where lovers meet. To experience additional romance, take a walk through unspoilt nature or take a boat ride across the River Mura and reach the Biomura Educational Trail in Mota. On the Island of Love, there is also a berth for rafting boats for anyone who wishes to slightly “shake up” their romance on Mura's wild waters.
