St Vitus Chapel stands in the embrace of old trees in the immediate vicinity of Lake Bukovnica, and next to it you can hear a source of water with special energy and numerous medicinal effects. The surrounding forest is a hiding place for 26 points with sources of beneficial and therapeutic energy. Such points can also be found in Razkrižje. There, you can also learn about the lives of our ancestors in an authentic prehistoric settlement in Šafarsko.
Experience romantic moments on the Island of Love. It was formed by the River Mura over time, and legend has it that this is where lovers meet. To experience additional romance, take a walk through unspoilt nature or take a boat ride across the River Mura and reach the Biomura Educational Trail in Mota. On the Island of Love, there is also a berth for rafting boats for anyone who wishes to slightly “shake up” their romance on Mura's wild waters.

Due to its incredible biodiversity, the River Mura is one of the richest ecosystems in this part of Europe, which is a part of the Natura 2000 system.
There are three protected areas of nature in Pomurje; in addition to the Goričko Landscape Park, there is also the Ljutomer Ponds-Jeruzalem Hills Landscape Park and the Negova Landscape Park.
You can also bike along the former Iron Curtain (Eurovelo 13) by e-bicycle, which you can rent in larger towns around Pomurje.
Prekmurje layer cake (gibanica)
The Prekmurje layer cake (gibanica) is quite a special dessert, which is considered a Slovenian national culinary delight. It prides itself in having a traditional speciality guaranteed designation. This old holiday and ritual dish from Prekmurje was named after the word guba or güba (fold) and it has been present in the region along the River Mura since very long ago.

Rogaška Slatina is just under 100 km away – what this town shares with Pomurje is its link to unique mineral water.
