In the company of top cyclists on Tour of Slovenia

The Tour of Slovenia international cycling race, organised by the Adria Mobil Cycling Club, has been the greatest and most popular cycling event in Slovenia for several years. The International Cycling Union (UCI) has classified the race in the UCI HC (Hors Class) category, which is the top competition rank in road cycling for the World Tour series. With its inclusion in the Eurosport TV programme and broadcast on RTV Slovenija, the race has acquired a lot of viewers. During the five years of cooperation with Eurosport, the race was watched by more than 46 million viewers!

In the international environment, the Tour of Slovenia has strengthened its visibility and reputation, having hosted numerous world-class cyclists and teams. During its history, the tour has developed into a unique sports project that connects the whole of Slovenia through its diverse route stages, attracting numerous spectators along the road and to TV screens and as such serves as an excellent promotion of Slovenia as a boutique tourist destination.

In 2023, the 29th Tour of Slovenia will take place. Cyclists will take to the Slovenian roads between 14 and 18 June 2023.

The Tour of Slovenia is more than just a cycling race. It is also a journey across a green country, offering an opportunity to discover its beauty along the cycling route. Check out some highlights from last year’s race.

Direct broadcast on Eurosport – a treat for millions of viewers

As in previous years, last year’s live broadcast of the race took place on the global sports television network Eurosport between June 15 and 19, 2022. Millions of Eurosport 1 viewers could follow professional cyclists daily as they overcame the kilometres through green Slovenia, and watch their struggle with ascents and descents and plains, while admiring the extraordinary helicopter shots of breathtaking views, both live and through recordings of previous stages.

Over 300 thousand fans along the route of the five-day race.

10.9 million viewers on the international TV network Eurosport.

More than 62 million fans on social networks.

Victory for the Slovenian cycling star Tadej Pogačar

22 teams took part in last year's Tour of Slovenia. Quite a few stars took part in the race, with the first rider on the UCI ranking Tadej Pogačar (UAE Team Emirates) and Matej Mohorič (Bahrain-Victorious) leading the way. Pogačar won the Tour of Slovenia race for the second time in a row and justified his position as one of the main favourites for the overall victory. In addition to the two aforementioned Slovenian cyclists, Luka Mezgec, Jan Polanc and Jan Tratnik also compete in the home race.

Another top Slovenian cyclist, Primož Roglič, was also a force to be reckoned with in this race. He won his home race for the first time in 2015 and celebrated his second victory in 2018.

Tadej Pogačar – the wonderboy who has shaken the cycling world

One of the biggest Slovenian cycling stars, Tadej Pogačar, took part in the Tour of Slovenia. The two-time winner of the prestigious Tour de France and a bronze medallist at the Olympic Games in Tokyo also won the Tour of Slovenia last year and this.
