Get to know Slovenia by taking the most beautiful biking trails that will lead you to magnificent views, many challenges of your cycling skills and, above all, to the indescribable pleasures of green nature – from the Alpine world to the sea.

Slovenian Bicycle Touring Trail

A total of 50,000 metres of altitude difference await you along the 1,800 km circular trail that will take you around the whole of Slovenia! The highest climb is at the Vršič Pass and the lowest point is reached in the coastal town of Piran and Sečovlje salt pans.

Trans Slovenia 1

Take a ride on the international biking trail that will take you from the Julian Alps to the coast. The 384-kilometre mountain biking trail known as Trans Slovenia 01 takes you across the Vršič Pass and through the fairy tale Soča Valley, the green hills of the Brda region and the picturesque Vipava Valley.

If you want to take a slightly less challenging route from the Alps to the coast, choose the Trans Slovenia 02 tour. The 363-kilometre mountain biking route takes you across the Karavanke Mountains to the wooded Pokljuka Plateau and then through the Idrijsko-Cerkljansko Hills and beyond, and across the Kras region to the Sečovlje salt pans.

Pohorje Cycling Transversal

Relax your thoughts while riding mountain bikes through the forests of Pohorje. Along the 75 km route from the St. Bolfenk Church on the Maribor side to Kremžar’s Peak on the Koroška region side, you will discover plenty of pristine nature and enjoy the many sights and landmarks of Pohorje.

Trans Karavanke Trail

The Karavanke Mountains, Slovenia's longest mountain range which is often basked in sunshine, are a very popular destination for mountain bikers. You can cycle them in five stages, taking the 132-km-long mountain biking trail from the municipality of Jezersko to Tromeja, the place where three countries meet.

With mountain bikes – even below ground?

Why not? In the heart of Peca Mountain in the Karavanke massif, you can explore the abandoned tunnels of lead and zinc mines on a mountain bike. Along the way, you will learn about the mine's history in the company of a local guide. To be completely enchanted by the world below Peca, embark on a kayak adventure, paddling through water-filled tunnels.
