In the Bears' Footsteps Endurance Hike

Do you want to take on a really exceptional hiking challenge? Then we have the right event for you. How about 64 kilometres and 2,300 metres of elevation gain through the vast forests of Kočevje? The endurance hike in the kingdom of the brown bear is a special adventure that is sure to leave a big impression on you. On the hike, bear-paw-shaped markers lead you past deserted Kočevar villages, mighty primeval forests and panoramic peaks to the starting point at Lake Rudnik.

Soča Valley Hiking Festival

September – October

The hiking festival is held at the time of year when the Soča Valley dons a thousand warm shades of autumn, making it perfect for you to enjoy the stunning autumn beauty of the valley on an organised hike. Choose from a variety of guided tours and hikes, from easy walks suitable for families to proper mountaineering challenges. In addition to hiking, you can visit its museums and exhibitions, attend various presentations and film screenings on mountaineering and natural history, and sample the local cuisine.

Hiking weeks along the paths of Istria

March – April, October – November

Hiking goes hand in hand with a healthy way of life. That's why Strunjan organises special hiking weeks in spring and autumn, where visitors can discover the beauty of Istria and breathe in the balmy sea air. You can also take the opportunity to visit local oil and wine producers, as well as replenishing your energy in typical Istrian tavernas along the way. After the hike, you can also relax your tired muscles with the sea's soothing bounty.

International Wild Flower Festival

24 May – 9 June 2024

When spring is in full bloom, the meadows of Bohinj come alive with colour. Did you know that more than 40 species of wild orchids can be found in the Lake Bohinj area? Bohinj's rich Alpine flora is the focus of the International Wild Flower Festival, which brings together a variety of events – from outdoor activities to culinary experiences – in a bouquet of festivities. These include guided botanical tours, where you can discover typical Alpine flowers and listen to local stories as you walk along scenic Bohinj trails.

This June, between the most striking peaks of the Julian Alps on one side and the green Karavanke Mountains on the other, you can experience a colourful festival of outdoor activities for all generations. Vinotour Nordic Walks

All year round, once a month

Vinotour is the first international Nordic walking trail that takes you through the vineyards around Svečina. Each month, themed guided walks are organised, where instructors show you how to do Nordic walking properly. There are five different routes to choose from, ranging from 11 to 24 kilometres in length. But don't worry, there are also stops and welcoming homesteads in between, where you can catch your breath and sample some local delicacies.

In spring and autumn

The Posavje region is criss-crossed by numerous trails that will take you on a journey to castles, typical repnica turnip-cum-wine cellars and winemakers, revealing local stories and specialities.
