Rogla – winter fun for everyone
Not only will you be able to enjoy every turn you make on the steep white slopes of Pohorje by day and at night, there won’t be any time to be bored when in Rogla. You can release your adrenaline at a snow park, with daring dog sledding or skijoring, or you can head to the snow-covered forest trails on cross-country skis, snow shoes, or hiking shoes. Why not take a walk amongst tree tops? After a day of exercise, you can have fun at ski parties without even taking off your ski boots, you can relax at the wellness centres in hotels in Rogla, or enjoy some treatments at the nearby Zreče Spa and treat yourself to a hearty meal with the help of Tastes of Rogla.
Your snowy fairy tale embraced by Triglav National Park
When Vogel puts on its white cloak, it turns into a true winter fairy tale. Even just the gondola ride provides you with a breathtaking view of the Julian Alps and the wild Lake Bohinj – perfect for a skiing ‘selfie’. Once you reach the top, you’ll have plenty of skiing opportunities – for experienced skiers and beginners alike. There’s even something for those who like to ski off the designated slopes – of course, with a great measure of precaution and respect. Adrenaline junkies will also have some fun at the snow park. You can enjoy a snack in nice mountain cabins, and in some of them you can even spend the night. After returning to the valley, you can use a special ski pass to enjoy some water fun at the Bohinj Water Park.
Go skiing with a view of the capital and Gorenjska
In Krvavec, which is located just a few kilometres from Slovenia's central airport and the capital city of Ljubljana, you’ll truly be able to let loose on the snow. In addition to day-time and night-time skiing, ski touring, adrenaline-fuelled experiences, such as winter bike rides or snow tubing, and many other winter experiences, there’s always something interesting happening – from various concerts to unusual competitions. Romantics can enjoy night sledging, and a cable-car dinner – a unique culinary experience in a cable car – will top it all off.
Winter joy on Vitranc Hill
Kranjska Gora is known as one of the most prestigious stops for Alpine skiers competing in technical disciplines. Even though mainly experienced skiers will get excited about this, we can comfort those with lesser skiing skills, as there are slopes for everyone in Kranjska Gora. In the company of Kekec and his friends, children will not be bored either, and you can take a break and have a snack at the Snow Beach. You can hop on your cross-country skis and take well-maintained trails from Kranjska Gora to Planica. Hop on a sledge and enjoy a ride to the valley. Spice up your day of skiing by enjoying ice skating too or, if you prefer, by jumping into the pool of one of the nearby hotels.
Skiing and spa treatments in one place
Cerkno is considered to be one of Slovenia's most popular ski centres and it has been awarded by its visitors multiple times. Would you like to known why it’s so charming? In addition to well-maintained slopes and wonderful views of the Julian Alps, there’s also a lot for the youngest skiers. You can also trade in your Alpine skis for cross-country skis or enjoy some other winter activities. Selected cuisine and accommodation await you on the top of the ski centre. Cerkno is special because there’s only a short distance from the slopes to thermal spa treatments in the only spa in Slovenia’s Alpine world.
Winter fun in Golte
Retreat to the idyllic winter environment of Golte. Enjoy skiing or snowboarding down steep white slopes and make sure to go snowshoeing, sledging, or snow biking in the surrounding area, too. Perhaps you’ll feel like ice climbing. You can hire the equipment at the hotel in Golte. There’s plenty of food, drinks, and entertainment, and you can even extend your day of skiing by spending the night at the hotel, in pleasant holiday apartments, or in a mountain cabin.
One foot in the city and the other on ski slopes
Did you know that Maribor is the only major city in Slovenia with its own ski centre? The city bus will take you to the gondola, which will take you up the mountain to enjoy some skiing fun. The Maribor Pohorje Hills or Mariborsko Pohorje provides great skiing fun just above the city, especially in the evening when it’s illuminated, as it has the longest night slope in Slovenia. Once you’ve warmed up on your skis (Alpine or cross-country), snowboards, or sledges, you can enjoy some ‘apres ski’ fun or relax at a nearby wellness centre of the Terme Maribor Spa.
