The Rogličs are big fans of Slovenian winter athletes
Ski jumping and flying are the first sports that took Primož Roglič to the top of the world, while his wife Lora is a passionate cross-country skier. They also share their love of winter sports with their son, who can't wait to take on new adventures this winter. With their shared love of winter, they choose activities to recharge their batteries after a challenging cycling season. In the winter, Primož rarely misses a chance to cheer on his former national teammates, who are winning top places in international ski jumping competitions.
Planica and Kranjska Gora – where winter fun is at home all year round
Primož has the most emotional memories of his career as a ski jumper in Planica. The venue under the Ponce Mountains has hosted the world's best ski jumpers for more than 80 years. It is a symbol of tradition and pushing the limits of performance, boasting more than 40 world records in ski jumping and flying. The unique scenery of the Julian Alps, rising behind the ski jumps and flying hills, attracts tens of thousands of ski jumping and flying fans from all over the world each year at the end of winter.

Kranjska Gora
A world-class ski centre nestled in the Julian Alps at the triple border point of Slovenia, Italy and Austria
Since 2015, the Planica Nordic Centre has been offering many exciting sports activities under one roof all year round, such as cross-country skiing in the snow tunnel, curling in the summer and the wind tunnel, where you can experience the sensation of flying on the Planica Giant. Disc golf is also a special feature of the centre. In summer, the most popular attraction is the zipline from Planica flying hill, which is the steepest zipline in the world.
Not far away, Kranjska Gora has a rich winter sports tradition of alpine skiing. The traditional venue for the Alpine Ski World Cup, which is renowned as one of the most challenging slopes in the World Cup, also boasts a number of ski slopes suitable for the youngest skiers' first turns. Lora and Primož are also keen to introduce their son to as many different sports as possible, and he is currently most enthusiastic about sledding. "He especially likes to go as fast as possible on the sledge, which is also a good physical activity for Primož and me," Lora explains with a laugh, adding that he is as keen on cross-country skiing as his parents and has been skiing on his own since he was two years old.
Winter is not complete without winter fun at Rogla
Although Rogla is more closely associated with Primož in the summer, as it is his favourite mountain to climb in Slovenia on a bike, it is the Roglič family's favourite choice in winter. They often choose to travel around Slovenia by motorhome, as it allows them to have their house on wheels with them at all times. An organised children's snow party at Rogla is a great way to make the winter holidays more enjoyable for the little ones, while their parents can enjoy the white slopes or go cross-country skiing.
