My way of relaxing in the Pannonian plains
Discover a world that was once covered by the Pannonian Sea. Relax in unique thermal waters of the Pomurje region, which will help you on your journey to health and well-being. The vast landscape along the River Mura, nestled between the gentle hills of Goričko and the wine-growing Prlekija region will open your heart and re-energise you. You can feel this openness with the locals, who will serve you local delicacies. In order to enjoy a perfect experience of the Pannonian Plains and gentle hills, make sure to go on a short trip to the surrounding areas once you finish enjoying spa treatments and good food.
In Slovenia, you’ll be hard pressed to find as many sources of healthy thermal and mineral waters as you will in Pomurje. From black thermal and mineral water and paraffin water to CO₂-rich mineral water – all of these water types help us in their own way on our journey to well-being. Explore the world of spas in Pomurje, each of which will provide you with beneficial treatments for your body and soul.
Black water, buckwheat, and aquafun at the Terme 3000 Spa
The story of the Terme 3000 Spa is most marked by black thermal and mineral water and buckwheat. The chemical composition of the ‘black gold’ of Moravske Toplice has a positive effect on alleviating medical issues, and it is also used with much success for wellness services. The story of buckwheat, which has been cultivated in the fields of Pomurje for centuries, is present in wellness services as well as in glamping accommodation. Have unforgettable aquafun at the largest water park in Pomurje with the Aqualoop water slide, known for its acceleration that is not for the faint-hearted – this makes it one of the fastest water slides in Europe.
Although most Slovenians know it as a legendary alcohol-free fizzy drink, which mixes well with other drinks, the natural mineral water from Radenci also has special power when it comes to your health. Try its therapeutic effects in baths or through a drinking treatment; when frozen, it opens pores and revitalises the body before you enter a sauna. May your heart be glad when you feel the therapeutic bubbles of the naturally present CO₂.
If you're looking for suitable spas for a family holiday, the Terme Banovci Spa is the ideal choice. Edithe Pirate will inspire the children's imagination by revealing local mysteries and legends through various activities, which the ‘big’ kids will also be able to enjoy. You can also combine your spa holiday with a stay in the nature of Prlekija, as there is a camp located nearby, which also includes a separate nudist part.
Discover the positive effects of paraffin thermal water, which is the common thread of the programmes offered at the Terme Lendava Spa. Unique water with a distinctive green colour that comes from the the naturally present paraffin is beneficial for the well-being of elderly visitors, as it has a therapeutic effect on age-related afflictions. Paraffin water also plays an important role in wellness – try a paraffin bath and experience wellness with a local twist.
Take a holiday in the nature of the Prlekija region at the Bioterme Mala Nedelja Spa. Enjoy some time in saunas and baths, where you’ll be served selected local specialities, such as canapés with the typical Prlekija tünka (meat from the lard barrel). You can make your thermal experience even better by staying in the Sun Valley – in glamping villas or tents. This spa is also committed to green mentality – the hotel is one of the recipients of the Slovenia Green label.
Take a break on the plains of Prekmurje. Visit the Terme Vivat Spa where you can enjoy wellness treatments and seek ways to achieve well-being in unique white or black thermal water. The spa is popular both for a family holiday or for sports preparations.
Once you’ve relaxed and been revitalised, you can go exploring the immediate surroundings of Pomurje spas, where you can enjoy various experiences and see some of Pomurje’s sights.
... it’s time to taste typical specialities from Pomurje. Taste the traditional dessert, Gibanica Layer Cake, and try preparing it. Try something tasty in the streets of Murska Sobota.
In the land of storks, vineyards, and healthy waters
Thermal Pannonian Slovenia, of which Pomurje is also a part, offers numerous ways to find health and well-being. Enjoy some downtime in spas and relax in healthy waters. Take a bicycle ride amongst gentle wine-growing hills and be revitalised as you taste selected Slovenian delicacies.
