The 27th edition of the Tour of Slovenia starts today – live broadcast on Eurosport!

With world-class partners and under the “Fight for green” slogan, the Tour of Slovenia is gaining new momentum and is – aside from being a top cycling event – becoming also one of the main events that internationally promote Slovenia as a five-star destination for active holidays.

The 27th edition of the Tour of Slovenia starts today – live broadcast on Eurosport!

Today, the 27th edition of the Tour of Slovenia cycling race starts in Ptuj. Yesterday, a press conference was held there, at the Dominican Monastery. It was attended by top cyclists Tadej Pogačar, Matej Mohorič and Diego Ulissi, along with representatives of the organizers and the Slovenian Tourist Board (STB). In partnership with Adria Mobil, the STB leased advertising space on the global television network Eurosport this year as well, which significantly contributes to greater recognition and reputation of Slovenia as an excellent destination for active experiences and a country of top cyclists. The race places special emphasis on sustainability, which strengthens Slovenia's reputation as a sustainable destination.

After 26 successful performances, the Tour of Slovenia cycling race is considered a top sporting event that every year hosts the most famous cycling names and attracts millions of spectators and also the most influential global sports media. In four years since the race is broadcast on Eurosport, the race, which is an excellent opportunity to promote Slovenia as a green, active and healthy destination, has reached as many as 35 million spectators.

Thanks to the partnership between the STB, Adria Mobil and 31 tourist destinations – 10 of them are the starting and finishing locations and 21 other points of interest – Slovenia is also showcased on the first and second Eurosport TV channels with 210 30-second advertisements. In four years, since the race is broadcast live on Eurosport, the STB has made an important contribution to increasing the visibility and promotion of Slovenia as an excellent active destination.

The advertising campaign on the Eurosport TV network will take place in June and July. The ads highlight Slovenia as an attractive cycling destination for active experiences, culinary pampering and cultural research. Also, other communication activities for presenting Slovenia as a green and safe destination for excellent active experiences on the website and the social networks of the Eurosport network have been intensified. The race pays special attention to the sustainable development of Slovenia with the recognizable slogan "Fight for green". Additionally, sustainable behaviour is encouraged with the Best Host Destination competition.

MSc. Maja Pak, Director of the Slovenian Tourist Board, said at the press conference: “The Tour of Slovenia is one of the most resounding sporting events in Slovenia, watched by millions of cycling enthusiasts around the world. For the fourth time, the Slovenian Tourist Board is participating in the race by promoting Slovenia as a green, active and healthy destination with a broadcast on Eurosport with 18 million spectators. Visibility of Slovenia will be further enhanced with a 10-hour television broadcast and 230 advertisements of Slovenia in June and July. The race will also be broadcast on, where three million displays of online banners and content articles about the race will additionally draw attention to Slovenia. Our efforts in the field of sustainable development have been communicated in the slogan of the race "Fight for the Green" and this year, for the first time, also in the criteria for selecting the Best Race Host Destination.” Pak also highlighted the STB’s partnership with Tadej Pogačar, the current winner of the prestigious race in France and one of the first favourites to win this year's Tour of Slovenia: “We have also recorded a special video with Tadej Pogačar, where he invites spectators to discover the active adventures of Slovenia.”  

Tadej Pogačar is also taking part in the Tour of Slovenia this year, wishing to win the race: “Two months ago, we have decided to participate in the race. It is a pleasure for me to race in Slovenia, I hope that there will be a lot of Slovenian fans along the track.”

The live broadcast of the race will take place for a total of 10 hours on Eurosport 2, which monthly reaches 11 million spectators, and on The best moments will be broadcast on Eurosport 1 with a monthly reach of 18 million spectators. In June and July, television advertising will be carried out on Eurosport 1 and 2 and on the website with three million display banners, including a visible display of the I feel Slovenia brand.

Two content articles about Slovenia and the race on the website will also draw attention to Slovenia as a green and safe destination for great experiences.

The STB pays special attention to cycling as one of the key products of active holidays, and strengthens the visibility and reputation as a destination for excellent cycling holidays by partnering up with top cycling aces, Tadej Pogačar and Primož Roglič. Since Tadej Pogačar will participate in this year's Tour of Slovenia race, the STB also launched a special video where the Slovenian cycling ace invites spectators to discover the active adventures in Slovenia.

"Fight for green", the slogan of the race also this year highlights Slovenia's commitment sustainability and urges to protect the environment.
