Slovenia Green for restaurants
After being awarded the title of Slovenia - European Region of Gastronomy 2021 and having established the sustainability concept of "from garden to table", the GSST has expanded into the field of gastronomy. As of January 2021, catering service providers can obtain the Slovenia Green label based on having previously obtained the Good Travel Seal or Green Key international sustainability certification. In doing so, they sign the Slovenia Sustainable Gastronomy Commitment, which:
based on Slovenian gastronomic specialities, authentic and seasonal dishes with local character, highlights the exceptional importance of short supply chains of high quality local food providers and stimulates caterers to connect and engage with the local environment, reduce waste, eliminate single-use plastics, use fresh tap water, reduce their carbon footprint, use natural resources sustainably and maintain high hygiene and sanitation standards.
