Japan World's Tourism Film Festival 2022: Slovenia among the winners

Yoron Island in Japan hosted the fourth edition of the Japan World’s Tourism Film Festival. The event awarded tourism videos that stood out for their creative and innovative potential. Among the winners was also Slovenia, with the video on Slovenian gastronomy. 

This year's competition featured a significant record of entries. The international competition received 1534 submissions from 110 countries, while another 201 videos were submitted for the national competition. The Japan World's Tourism Film Festival marked the kick-off of CIFFT Circuit 2022, the world's largest and most prestigious competition dedicated to Travel Video Marketing, which brings together tourism film festivals from four continents. The success of JWTFF reveals the quality and competitiveness that can be expected in the upcoming stages.

The video showcases the unique advantage of Slovenian chefs, which is their privileged access to local ingredients. Slovenian culinary philosophy is based on the principle ‘from the garden to table’ and this is reflected in the close relationships between chefs and local producers, as well as the deep connections between Slovenian landscapes and traditional culinary experiences. The video was created in partnership with the Slovenian Tourist Board, the renowned National Geographic photographer and director Ciril Jazbec, internationally renowned director of photography Sven Pepeonik and food stylist Gruša Zorn.
