Cycling fans of Slovenia: virtual cheering for Slovenian cyclists at Tour de France
Slovenian Tourist Board (STB) is launching the Cycling fans of Slovenia cheering campaign, which encourages domestic and foreign fans of Slovenian cyclists to virtually cheer for their favourites.
With photos and videos of cycling experiences in Slovenia and the use of virtual cheering elements, the STB wants to send a chain of good wishes to Slovenian cyclists via social media networks and encourage them to make the best out of their performance at Tour de France. At the opening stage of the race in Copenhagen, fans of Slovenian cyclists are also invited to the I feel Slovenia pavilion. In September this year, Le Étape Slovenia by Tour de France will take place in Slovenia, powered by I feel Slovenia, and supported by the STB.
Upon launching the Cycling fans of Slovenia campaign, MSc. Maja Pak, the director of the STB, commented: “Cycling is one of the key products of Slovenian tourism with a long tradition. STB participates in many cycling events in Slovenia, among them also Tour of Slovenia, which brought a new cheering milestone and stood alongside the most visited sports events in Slovenia. Primož Roglič and Tadej Pogačar have been ambassadors of Slovenian tourism for years. Therefore, the STB is launching the Cycling fans of Slovenia cheering campaign, which will connect the fans of Slovenian cyclists at home and abroad and motivate them for doing their best at the world's most demanding cycling race, Tour de France. By doing this, we will additionally address cycling enthusiasts and draw attention to Slovenia as a destination for excellent active holidays. We are also inviting tourist destinations around Slovenia to join, as well as cycling clubs in Slovenia and abroad and other stakeholders in the field of cycling tourism to join the campaign.”
The ambassadors of Slovenian tourism are the main favourites for the victory at the most prestigious cycling race in the world
Fans and top athletes inspire each other. Athletes delight fans with their performances, dedication, sacrifice and achievements and vice versa: the cheering fever and energy help athletes to achieve top results. Tadej Pogačar and Primož Roglič, both ambassadors of Slovenian tourism, will again be the main favourites at Tour de France. With the fan campaign, the STB wants to connect the fans of Slovenian cyclists at home and abroad. By creating and sharing cycling experiences and using virtual fan props on social media networks, the STB motivates cyclists for the most difficult and demanding challenges at Tour de France.

Just before the final stage of Tour de France, the STB will promote Slovenia and its cycling aces on Twitter in partnership with A.S.O. The STB will lease the Masthead advertising space at the top of the YouTube channel, which will be reserved for the STB's adverts during the final stages of the Tour de France. Thus, visitors from most key European markets who will access YouTube will see a Slovenian cycling video ad on their YouTube homepage.
