In Slovenia, around 6000 book titles are published every year, which ranks it in range with Scandinavian countries and the UK. What is more, Slovenia has one of the best organised library systems in Europe, which results in around 12 borrowings per capita, and more than 150 bookstores and 3 bookstore chains – compared to the fact that we are a nation of only two million, these numbers are really impressive.
