Ultra Trail Vipava Valley I Feel Slovenia

The UTVV I Feel Slovenia is considered to be the most visited running event of its kind in Slovenia with international participation. This edition marks a historical event, as the course of this ultra-marathon is set in the valley where one of the most important battles of the late Roman period took place in 394, the Battle of the Cold River or the Battle of Frigidus. The ultra-marathon event, which takes place in Vipava Valley and the wider area of Goriško, crossed the state border for the first time in history last year and included neighboring Gorica in the event. It will be the same this year. Through cross-border cooperation, the Municipality of Nova Gorica and the Municipality of Gorica (Comune di Gorizia) are symbolically entering the events related to the European Capital of Culture in 2025.

The UTVV I Feel Slovenia will start on Friday, May 5, on the main square of the old Roman settlement of Castra, today known as Ajdovščina. A total of 7 distances will be available to the competitors: Emperor 170 km (6,400 altitude meters), Centurion 110 km (4,500 altitude meters), Gladiator 60 km (2,400 altitude meters), Legionary 30 km (1,600 altitude meters), Asterix 15 km (190 altitude meters), Castra City Run 10 km (300 altitude meters) and the non-competitive 11-km Obelix Hike & Wine hike (100 altitude meters), where hikers and lovers of excellent Vipava cuisine will also be able to participate.
