The Secret Rooms of the Jama Hotel awarded the Slovenia Unique Experiences and Sejalec 2022 label

Next to one of the world's greatest landmarks, the Postojna Cave Park, the iconic Jama Hotel is located. During its renovation in 2016, a secret communication centre was discovered in the building, revealing the activities of the secret services of the former political system. The rooms now on display for visitors.

By entering the Secret rooms of the Jama Hotel, visitors enter the Cold War era, the tense political and exciting events of the Eastern Bloc countries. A thrilling feeling of having just become part of a suspenseful crime drama washes over you. It is as if you stepped into a secret area where the privacy of individuals and prominent politicians was illegally invaded and their fate determined by extraordinary technological devices.

This highly experiential experience offers exclusive access to authentic wiretaps of the State Security Service, which are otherwise only accessible by special permission. The tension is heightened by walking through dark, windowless corridors and the general disorientation felt by the visitor. It is left to each individual to decide what is true and what is false, based on historical facts and the testimonies of former employees and those involved. The tour can be guided or audio-guided.

Sejalec 2022

The Slovenian Tourist Board presented the Sejalec 2022 award for innovative achievements in tourism at the Slovenian Tourism Days to the Secret Rooms of the Jama Hotel. The experience offers an exclusive insight into the long-silenced and hidden rooms inside the iconic Jama Hotel.
