Slovenia wins the Emerging Nation and Eno-Gastronomy 2019 award

The award is given to those that particularly impressed the readers of the magazine and the committee of the Food and Travel Magazine Italia with the quality and excellence of their gastronomic offer.

Slovenia won in the EMERGING NATION AND ENO-GASTRONOMY 2019 category, which proves that we are on the right track towards becoming internationally known as a top gastronomy destination. This is also a recognition of the work of all those who are involved in the process.

The award ceremony was attended by Aljoša Ota, Head of the STB representative office in Italy, and top Slovenian chef Tomaž Kavčič.

Msc. Maja Pak, Director of the Slovenian Tourist Board, emphasized: “The fact that the renowned and internationally recognized Food and Travel Magazine Italy awarded us is a further proof that Slovenian gastronomy is on the rise (and on the right track). Slovenia is becoming internationally recognized as a top gastronomic destination not only in Italy, but also on the global map. This would not be the case, if there weren’t for so many great chefs, wine and food producers and all those who strive to be boutique, authentic, local and sustainable. I would like to thank all. Furthermore, the award is also a great opportunity for the promotion of Slovenia, whose umbrella communication topic for the next two years will be gastronomy. In addition, Slovenia will also hold the tile of the European Region of Gastronomy 2021."

Food and Travel Magazine Italia reaches more than 600,000 readers worldwide. It is issued in English, German, Spanish, Greek, Portuguese, Arabic, Italian and Turkish.
