Gold and silver in Hamburg for the promotion of Slovenian tourism

Ljubljana, 17 May 2018 – At the WorldMediaFestival | TOURISM in Hamburg, the Slovenian Tourist Board (the STB) was awarded for the global digital campaign Slovenia. Make New Memories. The STB received the intermedia-globe GOLD | TOURISM award for a longer version of the promotional video and the intermedia-globe SILVER | TOURISM award for the shorter version. The awards recognise excellence and exceptional, modern solutions in the global promotion of tourism.

"We are delighted with the awards for excellence in the promotion of Slovenian tourism as they confirm that our advertising is modern, efficient, outstanding, persuasive, has a clear message and reaches precise audiences. The awards along with the excellent results of Slovenian tourism, good response to publications in our social media and numerous contributions in respectable international media show that Slovenia is a green, active and healthy tourist destination for 5-star experiences is growing. In line with the trends, we will continue to expand digital marketing while improving business events," said mag. Maja Pak, Director of STB.

The international jury evaluated 177 applications from various parts of the globe, i.e. their level of production, approach to modern communication, sound, creativity, texts, photography quality, especially the fulfilment of goals and communication with the target group. STB received the intermedia-globe GOLD | TOURISM award for the global digital campaign Slovenia. Make New Memories. STB created its design in collaboration with the PM Business Media company, launched it in 2016 and continues to work in close cooperation with the Slovenian tourism industry in major foreign markets through innovative advertising messages that are made through stories about Slovenia as a country of diverse experiences with the authentic testimonies of its visitors. The campaign enhances Slovenia's recognition and reputation as a green, active and healthy tourism destination for 5-star experiences, promotes attractive tourism products and increases the competitiveness of Slovenian tourism. Thanks to the innovative media genre, where videos do not function as traditional adverts but as trailers for expected experiences, the number of visitors and the number of followers of STB's social media are increasing.

The jury of the sixth international media festival The WorldMediaFestival | TOURISM in Hamburg awarded STB with the intermedia-globe SILVER | TOURISM award for the longer and shorter version of the promotion video Slovenia Impressions: Feel Pure Love.

Promotion videos Slovenia Impressions: Feel Pure Love were created by STB in collaboration with RTV Slovenija. They are a part of the Slike Slovenije project (Images of Slovenia) including seven longer themed promotion videos which feature a story approach to show our country as a sustainable destination that enthuses every visitor with its diversity and activities. The videos are intended for promotion via social media and TV and within the scope of various business events.

The longer version of the video Slovenia Impressions: Feel Pure Love has already received one award this year, ranking second in the The Golden City Gate category at the global travel trade show ITB Berlin.

The intermedia-globe awards have been awarded in Hamburg, which is described by Germans as their media metropolis, since 2012 with the purpose of highlighting exceptional practices in the field of tourist films, television, internet, printed and corporate production and promotion. It aims to emphasise the role of tourism in the global economy. The awards are granted in May at The WorldMediaFestival | TOURISM, a global event visited by professionals in communication and media.
