The Days of Slovenian Tourism 2022: Something more and much better. A guide to strategy.

This year's Days of Slovenian Tourism, which will take place between 14 and 16 November at the Thermana Park Laško Hotel, will focus on the implementation of the vision and the measures and objectives of the 2022 - 2028 Slovenian Tourism Strategy, which strategically focuses on the development and marketing of a balanced tourist offer of sustainable boutique tourism of higher quality. Adopted this spring, it aims to implement a balanced growth scenario with the principle of "Something more and much better", which foresees a moderate increase in capacities and quantitative indicators, but above all higher quality and added value, with a focus on measures to restructure the supply side of Slovenian tourism. The development of Slovenian tourism is based on higher added value for all stakeholders, including businesses, motivated and satisfied employees, a satisfied local population and enthusiastic visitors.

At today's press conference, the key issues facing Slovenian tourism on the path to realising the vision of green boutique with a smaller footprint and greater value for all, as well as the contents of the event, were presented by the representatives of the main organisers of the event: Matjaž Han, Minister of Economic Development and Technology, MSc. Maja Pak, Director of the Slovenian Tourist Board, Andrej Prebil, President of the Chamber of Tourism and Catering of Slovenia, Patricija Furlan, President of the Section for Catering and Tourism at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Slovenia, Jože Prah, Vice President of the Slovenian Tourist Association and Drago Bulc, President of the Association of Tourist Journalists of Slovenia. Mojca Leskovar, President of the Board of Thermana d.d., addressed the guests on behalf of the host.

Matjaž Han, Minister of Economic Development and Technology highlighted: "Slovenian tourism is facing new changes brought about by the health and energy crisis and the changing habits of tourists. We need to turn these changes to our advantage, to take advantage of Slovenia's assets and to offer our guests green boutique products and services. We need to increase the added value of tourism in all Slovenian regions and leave a low carbon footprint for the benefit of businesses, employees and local communities. With the new strategy, we have started to develop Slovenian tourism according to the principle of 'Somehing more and much better'. By 2028, we want to significantly improve the quality of tourist accommodation and offer, raise the skills of our employees and improve their working conditions, deliver on our promises to make Slovenian tourism green and sustainable and improve the integrated management of tourism at all levels."

MSc. Maja Pak, Director of the Slovenian Tourist Board: "This year's Days of Slovenian Tourism will present projects and activities to achieve the vision of the current tourism strategy. In the coming year, the Slovenian Tourist Board's marketing and promotional activities will focus on markets that the European Travel Commission predicts will be among the largest emitative markets in Europe. The biggest new projects of the Slovenian Tourist Board in the coming period are the development of a national data centre and the creation of a model for the organisation of Slovenian tourism. Particular attention is paid to encouraging the development of quality products with higher added value and activities to strengthen the knowledge and competences of employees and the reputation of the hospitality and tourism professions. On the occasion of the 12th anniversary of the event, I would like to express my sincere gratitude to all the partner organisations and institutions in tourism for participating in organising the event."
