New themed tours in Ptuj, the oldest Slovenian town
Ptuj will soon celebrate 1950 years since it was first mentioned in written records and this occasion is just perfect for launching special, themed tours of the Roman Petoviona to its list of guided tours.
The charming old town of Ptuj will soon celebrate 1950 years since it was first mentioned in written records. On this occassion, special themed tours of the Roman Petoviona have been added to their list of guided tours.
Guides in period costumes take the visitors around the Roman sites around the town, and present them the lifestyle, clothing, food and trades from the Roman era. To make the tour around historical sites even more exciting, we added a battle between mythological heroes. To mark the strong connection between the beginnings of the Roman settlement in the area and the military outpost, the tour also includes a showing of Roman legionaries’ gear. Wine lovers will not leave disappointed after tasting the Roman version of spiced wine.
Themed tours are available in 9 languages (Slovenian, English, German, Croatian, Italian, French, Portuguese, Czech, and Slovakian).
