Slovenian promotional stand among the top 10 in China
From 4th to 6th of August, the international tourist fair Xi'an Silk Road International Tourism Expo (XSRITE) took place in the Chinese city of Xi'an. At the event, the Slovenian presentation stand was declared one of the ten most popular and one of the top five best organised stands.
The activities at the XSRITE 2017 took place in the form of business meetings with representatives of tour operators and tourist agents and as a presentation of the tourist destination to the general public. Maribor Tourist Board, in cooperation with its partners (City of Maribor, SHS Aviation, FlyVLM, HIT d.d.), presented Slovenia as a green, active and healthy destination to 30 Asian and some European tour organisers and tourism and travel agencies, and provided a high-profile media promotion.
The main focus of the Slovenian presentation was the competitive range in the field of organising sports events, and wine as an authentic Slovenian product, with a unique story about the oldest vine in the world. Accordingly, the presentation of Slovenia on the stand included tasting of pumpkin seed oil and wines from the Štajerska region in the company of the Maribor Wine Queen Kaja Šerbinek, and occasional prizes for visitors.
The success of the Slovenian presentation at the XSRITE 2017 resulted in the two awards, received by the representative of the Maribor delegation, the director of the Maribor Tourist Board, Doris Urbančič Windisch. The Slovenian presentation stand was declared one of the ten most popular and one of the five best organised stands at the fair.
