The first quarter of 2017 had over 1.9 million tourist overnight stays

In the first three months of 2017, tourist providers recorded 7% more tourist arrivals and 5% more overnight stays compared to the same period of the previous year.

In the first quarter of the year 2017, domestic tourists generated 7% more tourist arrivals and 4% more overnight stays than in the same period of the previous year. In the same comparison, the number of foreign tourist arrivals increased by 7% and their overnight stays by 5%. The most tourist overnight stays were recorded in the municipalities of Piran (13% or more than 87,000), Ljubljana, Kranjska Gora, Terme 3000-Moravske Toplice, Bled and Brežice.

In March 2017, almost 270,000 tourist arrivals and more than 669,000 overnight stays were registered in tourist accommodation, which was 8% more tourist arrivals and 7% more overnight stays than in March 2016. These record numbers were created by Slovenian guests. The number of domestic tourist arrivals increased by 23% and the number of their overnight stays by 21%.
