The winner of 2016 award for innovation in Slovenian tourism

Since 2004, the Sejalec awards have been presented to the most innovative achievements in Slovenian tourism. From 11 registered ideas this year, the expert committee selected a winner and two finalists, which were awarded at the gala event at the Days of Slovenian Tourism. The winner was the Vinarium Lendava watchtower, along with the finalists – Radlje ob Dravi Water Park and Glacier Wellness in Kranjska Gora.

When was the last time you were able to see the landscapes of four different countries at once? The watchtower Vinarium Lendava in Lendavske Gorice (north-eastern Slovenia), standing 53.3 metres tall, offers an incredible 360° view of the colourful landscape, including the plains and hills of Slovenia, Hungary, Croatia, and Austria. The first finalist of the Sejalec award was Water Park Radlje ob Dravi. This is the first biological swimming pool in Slovenia, located in the Koroška region in the north of the country. The water circulates with the help of a small pump, and the pool is cleaned entirely naturally using sand filters and plants.

The second finalist was Glacial Wellness at Hotel Špik in Kranjska Gora. Springs of natural 1500-year old glacial water from deep under the ground fill the swimming pools and inspire the glacial wellness programmes. The programmes and swimming are beneficial for health and offer perfect relaxation.
