47th Golden Fox Trophy

The Golden Fox Trophy is a classic women`s World Cup skiing event with a tradition dating back 46 years. Excitement at the chance to see the world`s finest slalom and giant slalom racers fills the approximately 20,000 spectators who come to the finish area of the Snow Stadium at the foot of the Mariborsko Pohorje to cheer on their favourite competitors.

The international reputation of the Golden Fox Trophy is partly due to the large number of spectators whose high spirits and encouragement of the competitors contribute to the incredible atmosphere at the foot of Pohorje. Another thing that makes the event attractive both to locals and to other visitors is its proximity to the centre of Maribor, Slovenia`s second-largest city.

Mariborsko Pohorje is a modern ski resort, the largest in Slovenia. It offers more than 40 km of ski runs, around 30 km of cross-country trails, the longest night skiing run in Slovenia and modern infrastructure. A wide range of activities for all ages are available on and off the slopes, along with traditional cuisine, top-flight entertainment and wellness centres offering attractive relaxation and recovery programmes. The Mariborsko Pohorje multi-day ski pass can also be used at some of Slovenia`s other ski resorts (Ribniško Pohorje, Kope and Kranjska Gora). Every year Mariborsko Pohorje hosts the Golden Fox Trophy, a women`s World Cup ski event which has become a unique festival of skiing at the foot of Pohorje and in the city of Maribor. The Mariborsko Pohorje ski centre is approximately 5 km from Maribor`s Old Town district – the centre of culture, cuisine, shopping, events, entertainment and the home of the oldest vine in the world. There is also a city bus service to and from the city.
