In its November edition, Golf World magazine, one of the most important golf magazines in Europe, especially in expert circles, published a list of one hundred of the best golf courses in continental Europe. Bled King’s Course with its 18 holes was listed in 51st place, thus improving its position by three places since its last classification in 2009.

The Bled golf course, opened in 1937, is the cradle of Slovenian golf and one of the oldest and most beautiful golf courses in Central Europe. In 1972, it was redesigned by the renowned golf course architect Donald Harradine. By taking into consideration all the natural conditions, he succeeded in creating an architectural masterpiece. In addition to the King’s Course, Bled golf course also includes the Lake Course, with 9 holes.

Bled King`s Course is the only Slovenian golf course listed among the one hundred best European golf courses by Golf World magazine since 2003 and has been steadily moving upwards on the list ever since. In the most recent issue, Bled ranked higher on the list than some of the most renowned golf courses, such as Fontana in Austria, Antalya in Turkey and Vilamoura in Portugal. Numerous representatives of golf associations, golf journalists and professional golf players from all over Europe participated in the assessment. The main criteria used for assessing the golf courses were design, difficulty and general aesthetic features. The Bled golf course’s attractive aesthetics and difficulty were pointed out in particular, in addition to its unique location near the highest Slovenian mountains, beautiful nature and its proximity to Bled, the world-class alpine pearl.
