8% more arrivals and 4% more overnight stays in June

According to data for June 2014, 8% more arrivals and 4% more overnight stays by the total number of tourists was recorded compared to June 2013. The number of arrivals by foreign tourists increased by 11%, while the number of their overnight stays increased by 8%. An increase of overnight stays can be observed in the mountainous and coastal municipalities, while the foreign tourists predominantly come from Germany, Austria, Italy, UK and Russia. Over the first six months 4% more arrivals and 1% more overnight stays were recorded and foreign tourists generated a 7% revenue increase and a 3% increase of overnight stays.

8% more arrivals and 4% more overnight stays in June

According to data for June 2014, 8% more arrivals and 4% more overnight stays by the total number of tourists was recorded compared to June 2013. The number of arrivals by foreign tourists increased by 11%, while the number of their overnight stays increased by 8%. An increase of overnight stays can be observed in the mountainous and coastal municipalities, while the foreign tourists predominantly come from Germany, Austria, Italy, UK and Russia. Over the first six months 4% more arrivals and 1% more overnight stays were recorded and foreign tourists generated a 7% revenue increase and a 3% increase of overnight stays.

Increase of overnight stays in camping sites

In June 2014, the majority of overnight stays was recorded for hotels (60%); campsites (17%), apartment and holiday villages (6%) and private rooms, apartments and houses (4%). Compared to last year, a 14% increase in overnight stays by tourists was observed in June 2014. There was a 10% increase of overnight stays for private rooms, 3% increase for apartment and holiday villages and 2% increase for hotels.

Among foreign tourists, the most overnight stays were made by tourists from Germany, Austria, Italy, UK ad Russia

In June 2014, the foreign tourists made a total of 66% of overnight stays. The tourists come from Germany (16%), Austria (13%), Italy (10%), United Kingdom (6%) and the Russian Federation (5%).

Increase in overnight stays in mountainous and coastal municipalities

In July 2014, the majority of tourists stayed overnight in thermal municipalities (27% of all overnight stays), followed by coastal (26%) and mountainous (23%) municipalities. The Municipality of Ljubljana registered a total of 10% of all overnight stays. In June 2014, a 9% or 7% increase, respectively, was observed in the mountainous and coastal municipalities compared to last year.

More overnight stays by German and Austrian tourists

In June 2014, the tourists from important tourism markets contributed to a revenue increase, where 43% was contributed by German, 26% by Austrian and 4% by Italian tourists in comparison to last year.

In the first half of 2014 more arrivals and overnight stays by foreign tourists

In the first half of the year, a 4% increase of arrival of all tourists was observed, while their overnight stays increased by 1% compared to the same period last year. In the first six months of 2014, the foreign tourists made a 7% increase in revenue and 3% increase in overnight stays compared to the same period last year.
