Compared to October 2014, in October 2015 there were 3% more tourist arrivals and 1% more overnight stays registered in tourist accommodation. 35% of all tourist overnight stays were generated in health (spa) resorts. Almost 75% of tourist overnight stays were registered in hotels, which is about the same as in the same period last year.

From January to October, 8% more tourist overnight stays were registered in tourist accommodation.
In October 2015, 5% more foreign tourist arrivals
Compared to October 2014, in October 2015 there were 3% more tourist arrivals and 1% more overnight stays registered in tourist accommodation. Under the same comparison, the number of domestic tourist arrivals decreased by 1%, while the number of their overnight stays increased by 1%. The number of foreign tourist arrivals and their overnight stays increased by 5% and 2%, respectively.
More than a third of tourist overnight stays were in health (spa) resorts
In October 2015, 35% of all tourist overnight stays were registered in health (spa) resorts, 19% in seaside resorts, 16% in mountain resorts and 15% in the municipality of Ljubljana. Compared to October 2014, a 12% increase in tourist overnight stays was recorded in the municipality of Ljubljana, and a 1% increase in health (spa) resorts. Under the same comparison, the number of tourist overnight stays decreased in seaside resorts by 4% and in mountain resorts by 3%.
Almost three quarters of tourist overnight stays in hotels
In October 2015, 73% of tourist overnight stays were recorded in hotels, 6% each in campsites and apartments, and 3% in rented rooms. In hotels approximately the same number of overnight stays were recorded as in October 2014. In apartments the number of tourist overnight stays increased by 6%, while in campsites it decreased by 9%.
More overnight stays of Italian and Croatian tourists
In October 2015 foreign tourists generated 60% of tourist overnight stays in Slovenia. Key markets from which foreign tourists came to Slovenia and generated the most overnight stays were Austria (17%), Italy (16%), Germany (11%) and Croatia (5%). In October 2015, tourists from Croatia generated 14% more and tourists from Italy 12% more overnight stays than in October 2014. Fewer overnight stays than in October 2014 were generated by tourists from Austria (by 4%) and Germany (by 2%).
8% more tourist overnight stays in the first ten months
In the first ten months of this year, 8% more tourist overnight stays were registered in tourist accommodation than in the same period of the previous year. The number of domestic overnight stays increased by 7% and the number of foreign ones by 8%. Under the same comparison, tourists generated 11% more arrivals (domestic 9% and foreign 12%).
