Slovenia, the next great incentive destination

Ljubljana, European Green Capital 2016, hosted the SITE Incentive Summit last month. This annual event brings together the Society for Incentive Travel Excellence (SITE), led by the SITE`s Board of Directors and Foundation Trustees. They head to a different location each year to share knowledge about the global incentive industry and to motivate local businesses to develop incentive programmes. Slovenia has been recognised as a great emerging incentive destination with its plethora of green, active and healthy experiences, quality of services and beautiful settings. Over 160 participants, hotels, DMCs, airlines, governments and students from 10 countries across Central Europe attended the SITE Education Day, CEO Forum and Future Leaders Forum.

Between 18th and 22nd January, the Incentive Summit was held at Ljubljana’s Grand Hotel Union. “The purpose of the event is to build international partnerships with emerging incentive destinations and to provide a platform for learning, exploration, and relationship building. All these goals were accomplished! After our week in Slovenia, we are convinced that it is a destination of great quality which can deliver unforgettable experiences and motivational moments beyond expectations.” said Kevin Hinton, SITE Chief Excellence Officer.

Throughout the week, SITE leaders and participants enjoyed unique experiences in Slovenia. The event generated the raising of awareness that Slovenia is a unique incentive destination with rich nature, culture and gastronomy.
