Slovenia, One of the Greatest Food Destinations
In Slovenia, the best way to someone`s heart is through the stomach. Travel and Leisure magazine pronounced Slovenia as one of Europe’s best Food Destinations.
In Slovenia, the best way to someone`s heart is through the stomach. “With meals that feel like magic shows and brightly coloured wines made by mysterious alchemical techniques, Slovenia has become one of the continent`s most intriguing places to eat and drink,” comments Alex Halberstadt, writer at Travel and Leisure magazine, when pronouncing Slovenia as one of Europe’s best Food Destinations.
Slovenia has 24 different culinary regions which offer excellent food and superb wines. Travel and Leisure magazine started the culinary journey in Brda, the land of invigorating moments and premium wines at the West of Slovenia. The expedition then continued through the romantic Vipava valley with stunning green views over the vineyards and hills of western Slovenia. Ljubljana, the European Green Capital 2016, was the last stop. Along the way, the crew visited top Slovenian vineries and winemakers, renowned chefs and restaurants, which are proving that Slovenia is one of the best culinary destination in Europe.
