Global Green Destination Day in Ljubljana

Slovenia and Ljubljana, the European Green Capital 2016, are proud to host the Global Green Destinations Day on 27th and 28th September 2016, supported by the Global Sustainable Tourism Council. Tourism Ljubljana and the Slovenian Tourist Board will welcome the world`s leaders in sustainability, green experts, international organisations and winning destinations from around the world.

The organiser of the Global Green Destination Day is the international network of Green Destinations, which created the Green Destinations Standards and the certification programmes Quality Coats, Quality Destinations and Slovenia Green. Green Destinations, which has its seat in the Netherlands, also organises the global competition TOP 100 Sustainable Tourism Destinations.

The Slovenian organiser is GoodPlace – Association for Sustainable Tourism, together with hosting partners Visit Ljubljana and the Slovenian Tourist Board. It is not a coincidence that the 2-day international conference will be held on World Tourism Day.

The Global Green Destination Day will present:

* The award ceremony for the Quality Coast, Quality Destination and Slovenia Green certifications

* the TOP 100 Sustainable tourism destinations

* State-of-the art “green solutions” for travel and tourism

* TOP 10 solutions for sustainable development

* Best providers of green infrastructure and technologies.
