Slovenia is strengthening its green soul and increasing the destinations and accommodation with Slovenia Green certificates. The green story is bound up in the very identity and brand I FEEL SLOVENIA, and SLOVENIA GREEN is right at the centre of the brand as an experiential promise that Slovenia provides to visitors.

The Green Scheme of Slovenian tourism is an initiative of the Slovenia Tourism Board which leads to a strengthening of Slovenia’s position as a green, active and healthy destination. The SLOVENIA GREEN certificates bring members numerous advantages, especially by raising their visibility and improving their promotion through national and international channels.

Nova Gorica joined the Slovenia Green family last week and became the 11th destination with a Green Certificate. By signing the document on the Green Policy of Slovenian tourism, the municipality committed to achieving and promoting sustainable tourism.

The accommodation provider, Rooms with a Story, Pr`Gavedarjo, entered the Green Scheme of Slovenian tourism and acquired a Slovenia Green Accommodation certificate. Pr `Gavedarjo received the prestigious Travelife certification in May 2016, which assesses the social, environmental and economic impacts and achievements of the tourist service provider in achieving sustainable development.

Early in June, Hostel Celica received a Gold Travelife Certificate and thus became the first certified sustainably-oriented hostel in Slovenia and the world. The hostel entered the Green Scheme of Slovenian Tourism and was rewarded with a Slovenia Green Certificate.
