A year of operation of independent Slovenian Tourist Board

Exactly a year ago, the Public Agency of the Republic of Slovenia for the Marketing and Promotion of Tourism (Slovenian Tourist Board, or STB) began operating as an independent institution. With the STB, tourism in Slovenia has regained a national tourist organisation which promotes the country as a tourist destination in foreign markets.

Twelve months ago, in the year leading up to the 20th anniversary of the STB, Slovenian tourism regained its central national institution for the promotion of the country as a tourist destination. In one year since it resumed operation as an independent organisation, the Slovenian Tourist Board has successfully completed all its planned activities and projects, many of which included co-operation with Slovenia’s tourism industry and other key stakeholders of Slovenian tourism.

Impressive tourism figures in recent months and major development steps taken by the country`s tourism industry have been driven by the implementation of all STB’s goals, efficient marketing and promotion of Slovenia as a tourist destination, and strong co-operation of the STB with Slovenia`s travel and tourism providers and other partners.
