After securing two national titles last week, Tadej Pogačar is heading to the Tour de France with one clear objective in mind: to claim the prestigious yellow jersey for the third time. Regarded as one of the top favourites, Tadej Pogačar, along with his compatriots Luka Mezgec and Matej Mohorič, will proudly represent Slovenia.

Explore the essential role of Slovenia in the Tour de France
For the past month, the cycling world has closely followed Pogačar's journey as he returned to training on the roads, overcoming a wrist injury. As a two-time Tour de France winner and now a two-time national champion, Pogačar has held the top spot in the UCI World Ranking for an impressive 101 weeks. His victories in the time trial at Pokljuka and the road race in Radovljica during the Slovenian national championships earned him a special jersey adorned with Slovenia's symbols and colours, signifying his status as the national champion.
Young by age, a champion by heart
At just 24 years old, Tadej Pogačar has already amassed an impressive collection of accolades. He has claimed the coveted yellow jersey twice at the Tour de France, earned a bronze medal at the Olympic Games, and secured the green jersey twice at the Tour of Slovenia. This year, he sets his sights on the white jersey, competing for the title of the best young rider at the Tour de France.
Pogačar's dominance at the Tour de France is evident, having clinched overall victories in 2020 and 2021, and finishing as the runner-up last year. The cycling world recognizes him alongside his Danish rival, Jonas Vingegaard, as the top contender for the yellow jersey at this year's Tour de France.
