The second video story by the Michelin Guide film crew was shot with Chef Igor Jagodic from Ljubljana's Strelec restaurant, the new winner of the MICHELIN star in 2022.
The Strelec Restaurant is located in Ljubljana Castle, which rises just above Ljubljana's Old Town and offers one of the most beautiful views of the city and the Alps. More specifically, it is located in the round tower named Strelec (Sagittarius), after which this castle restaurant takes its name.
Here, chef Igor Jagodic creates his elaborate plates, which are a mix of Pannonian, Alpine and Adriatic influences, of modernity and the past, of bourgeois and rural, and of surprising combinations of flavours, textures and colours. The focus is always on seasonal dishes, with ingredients as fresh and as local as possible.
Igor says that the Strelec Restaurant is part of his life.
In addition to the newly awarded Michelin star, Strelec has been awarded four caps by Gault&Millau Slovenia for four years in a row (since 2019) (17 out of 20 points), and Igor Jagodic was also selected as Gault&Millau's Chef of the Year 2019.
