Your guide to sporting events in Slovenia this weekend, including L'Etape Slovenia by Tour de France

This weekend, a number of sporting events will take place, including the first edition of the recreational cycling event L'Etape Slovenia by Tour de France presented by I Feel Slovenia, the international table tennis competition WTT Youth Star Contender Otočec presented by I Feel Slovenia and I Feel Slovenia Triathlon Festival 2022 in Bled.

On Sunday, September 4, L'Etape Slovenia by Tour de France presented by I Feel Slovenia starts at 9 a.m. The race is a unique opportunity for all recreational cyclists who want to experience, how Tour de France feels like. More than 1,000 registered cyclists will embark on the 70 and 138 km long routes, which pass through as many as eleven municipalities: Kranj, Šenčur, Medvode, Vodice, Komenda, Kamnik, Cerklje na Gorenjské, Preddvor, Radovljica, Naklo, Tržič.

A number of accompanying events will take place on Saturday, September 3, in Kranj, characterized by socializing and non-competitive cycling for all generations. The ambassador of the event is our excellent cyclist Matej Mohorič:

One of the ambassadors of Slovenian tourism, currently the leader in the UCI ranking, the first Slovenian to win the Tour de France and the youngest two-time winner of the Tour, Tadej Pogačar, also invites you to participate in the event. The route of Sunday's bicycle race will also pass through his birthplace, Klanec pri Komenda. It will be possible to see the cycling routes on which Tadej Pogačar trained.

In addition to L'Etape, this weekend a number of other sporting events will take place in other parts of Slovenia.

From August 30 to September 5, the WTT Youth Star Contender Otočec presented by I Feel Slovenia takes place. It is an international table tennis tournament in which the best players in the U11, U13, U15, U17 and U19 age groups take part. In total, over 200 players will participate.

In Bled, which is the cradle of Slovenian triathlon, the I Feel Slovenia Triathlon 2022 will take place on September 2 and 3. Competitors from over 20 countries, elite European junior triathletes and our best at the national championship are expected to be there. In total, over 400 competitors are expected to test their boundaries.

Slovenian Tourist Board (STB) recognizes the importance of such events, which enhance the image of Slovenia as a unique destination for active holidays and training of athletes and strengthens the value of the I Feel Slovenia brand and thus actively participates by highlighting the values of the I feel Slovenia brand.
