Statistics: A quarter of all tourist overnight stays in health (spa) resorts

In April 2022, tourist accommodation providers in Slovenia recorded approximately 929,000 tourist overnight stays, which is eight times more than in April 2021 when COVID-19 epidemic measures were still in place.

Statistics: A quarter of all tourist overnight stays in health (spa) resorts

In April 2022, foreign tourists generated almost 219,000 arrivals and more than 533,000 overnight stays, which is 33% fewer overnight stays than in the record-breaking April 2019, before the Covid-19 pandemic. The largest number of foreign overnight stays was generated by tourists from Austria (approximately 75,200 or 14% of all foreign overnight stays). They were followed by tourists from Germany and Italy (13% from each), Serbia (6%), Hungary (5%) and Croatia (5%). While domestic tourists generated the largest number of overnight stays in the municipality of Piran (almost 63,000), foreign tourists generated most overnight stays in Ljubljana (almost 131,800).

From the beginning of January to the end of April 2022, many more tourist arrivals and overnight stays were recorded than in the same period of 2021. Further information is available on the following link.
