Slovenia takes over the presidency of the Council of the EU
Today, Slovenia took over the presidency of the Council of the EU for the second time since joining the EU. Slovenia's priorities will contribute to securing the European Union's existence and development.
Under the slogan "Together. Resilient. Europe.", Slovenia will strive to facilitate the EU's recovery and reinforce its resilience, reflect on the future of Europe, strengthen the rule of law and European values, and increase security and stability in the European neighbourhood.
In line with the tradition of the presiding countries, Slovenia also hosts correspondents from Brussels accredited at the EU institutions from 30 June to 3 July. The purpose of the visit is to introduce foreign journalists to the programme and priorities of the Presidency. The informal tourism part of the programme also includes a visit to Vipava, recipient of the Slovenia Green Destination gold label, where they will have a chance to experience Slovenia as a boutique, sustainable and safe tourism destination.
