This weekend, the jubilee 60th Vitranc Cup will take place in Kranjska Gora, which has been present in Slovenia since 1961 and every year attracts thousands of fans from all over the world. The competition will start on Saturday with a giant slalom and finish on Sunday with a slalom.

This time, the Vitranc Cup, which cannot be seen live, will bear a charitable note. In the #VITRANCcares charity campaign, the Vitranc Cup will join forces with the Association of Friends of Youth Ljubljana Moste–Polje and, with the help of the new sports sponsorship project (in Slovene: Botrstvo v športu) help talented young athletes from socially disadvantaged backgrounds and enable better, more competitive training and competitions with peers. The project has run since 2020 under the auspices of the Association of Friends of Youth Ljubljana Moste - Polje and the Olympic Committee of Slovenia.

Interest in the television broadcast of the Vitranc Cup, which will be made by the national Slovenian tv (RTV Slovenia) in agreement with Infront, the owner of TV rights, is extremely high, as more than 95 million viewers are expected to watch around the world. The competition will be broadcast live in Austria, Italy, Germany, Switzerland, Croatia, the Czech Republic, Poland, the United Kingdom, France, Finland, Sweden, Norway, the Netherlands, the USA and others.

The Slovenian Tourist Board has been participating in major international sporting events for many years, as they present an excellent opportunity to raise the profile and reputation of Slovenia as a tourist destination, especially in the field of active break and sports preparations. At the same time, events like this position Slovenia as an excellent host of the most demanding sporting events.
