Hike along Slak's Trail

We invite you to join us for the eleventh hike along Slak's Trail. This traditional event takes place annually along the continuously marked Slak's Trail through Trška gora and is dedicated to the memory of the virtuoso of the diatonic accordion and legend of folk music, Lojze Slak.

The hiking trail is circular, well-marked, and easy, with a length of 8.0 km.

Where can you find us?

You can find us at Agricultural School Grm, Sevno 13, Novo mesto. Take the exit from the Novo mesto - east highway. In the first roundabout, turn left past Supernova - Qlandia.

In the third roundabout, turn left under the highway overpass. After 300 meters, you will reach the starting location, which is also the finish line of the hike. The accessible path will be clearly marked!

Slak's Trail program

• 8:00 - 9:00: Registration of hike participants at the Agricultural School GRM, Sevno 13, Nm
• 9:00: Group start of the hike
• 10:00 - 11:00: Break for a snack at Trška gora
• 11:00: Cultural program at the monument to Lojze Slak or in the church on Trška gora
• 12:00 onwards: Lunch at the Agricultural School GRM
• 13:30: Accordion group festival(Tourist Association of Dolenjska and Bela krajina)

Rest stops:

• Start at Agricultural School GRM: Offering of tea and coffee
• Wine tavern Teropšič
• Trška gora near the church: Snack – sausage, bread, mustard, cviček wine
• Slak's wine cellar
• Cultural and Artistic Society Trškogorsko Srce - Verček Vineyard Cottage
• School vineyard cottage of Agricultural School Grm
• Finish at Agricultural School Grm – Lunch: Goulash, bread, drink available for an additional charge

Entry fee

The entry fee of 20.00 EUR per person includes all the offerings listed during the hike.
, water, and occasional snacks at the rest stops are included in the entry fee!

Each participant of the Slak's Trail Hike receives, for the entry fee: a neck pouch and glass, voucher for snack and lunch, and a leaflet about the hike. The offerings at the rest stops are free of charge, except for snacks and lunch, for which you need vouchers. In addition, every accordion player who participates in the hike with an accordion will receive a commemorative t-shirt of the Slak's Trail Hike!

The hike is undertaken at one's own risk and will be carried out regardless of weather conditions! You are warmly invited, and we'll see you on Saturday, May 11th, 2024, at Trška gora! The hike is also part of the events within the Festival of Cviček and 52nd edition of The Week of Cviček.
