The history of Negova is closly linked whit the castle. For a short time in the 15th century it was occupied by the Hungarians, then it was taken over by the Habsburgs and finally in the 16th century by tge Trautmannsdorf counts. The castle is rectangular and divided into three parts: the old part, the new part and the front part. The Ministry of Culture is looking for a atrategic partner to take over the running of Negova Castle and organise tourism, cultural and culinary activities in it. Negova Castle is one of the most beautiful Slovenian medieval castles and is a cultural monument of Slovenian national importance. 
Working hours: from Thursday to Sunday from 10am to 5pm ( 1. 4. - 31. 10. ) Viewing within the Castle is possible only with a guided tour at 12.00 and 15.00. Entrance to the courtyard is free.
