At the top of the village of Avber, right next to the church, offering a wonderful view of the entire Karst region, you will find the Francinovi tourist farm. On a renovated farm that is distinguished by extremely well-preserved Karst architecture, your hosts will treat you to unique culinary delights. In addition to the famous Karst prosciutto, homemade salami, cheese in olive oil and štruklji, the hostess likes to serve dishes that are still prepared according to her own traditional recipes. Good food should be accompanied by good wine, and there are plenty of them on the farm whose owners treat their vineyards and wines with great respect and love. Families with children are more than welcome.
You can rent bikes on the farm and explore the Karst region in a slightly different way, in contact with its countryside, which is certainly a special experience. If you want to get to know the area with your hosts as guides, don't hesitate: the Francins will be happy to show you around. The location of the farm makes it an excellent choice for visiting the lovely nearby town of Štanjel, the Lipizzaner stables in Lipica, Divača and Škocjan caves, and who don't mind a longer trip might even head to Venice.
