The northern arm of the Sava river is born at the springs at Zelenci near Rateče near the Slovenian – Italian border. From its source it gathers water, so that it is transformed from a small stream to a river at Jesenice. In its entirety, the Sava Dolinka is a classic salmonid stream. The brown trout and rainbow trout are present throughout. They are numerous, and the average size is also very good. In the Moste Lake accumulation both species reach capital sizes. The grayling inhabits the lower part of the fishing grounds. The river is easily accessible from the main road, while access to the water is not difficult either.
