is the birth place of Anton Tomaž Linhart (1756–1795), the father of Slovene theatre and scientific historiography.
The central town square, which is situated in Radovljica's Old Town (Linhart Square), and the main cultural institution (Linhart Hall) were named after Anton Tomaž Linhart. Moreover, Radovljica's primary school and library were named in his honour, as well as the Anton Tomaž Linhart Choir, Linhart's Stage of the Young Theatre Ensemble and Linhart's Periodical. Linhart's birthday, 11 December, is a day of festivities in Radovljica.
A monument to Anton Tomaž Linhart was erected at Gorenjska Road, just across the road from the Secondary School and High School of Economics. It takes the form of a stage and a book, into which the silhouette of Linhart is carved.
