Domestic Marketing and Public Relations

The Department for Public Relations in Slovenia is responsible for carrying out market communication activities tied to the work and promotion of Slovenian Tourist Board in the domestic market. At the same time it works to provide information to the Slovenian public about STB activities abroad, and provides communication support during major events in the Slovenian tourism sector via the media and its own communication channels. The department holds press conferences on current topics in tourism, it provides answers to questions from journalists and produces press releases on the work and activities of STB, it monitors reporting in the Slovenian media and current trends in the tourism sector, it informs Slovenia’s commercial tourism sector of this and ensures communication support for major events and STB activities.

The PR Department is also responsible for producing and publishing the free STB newsletter for the management and marketing of tourism TUR!ZEM. This newsletter provides professional information from the Slovenian and international tourist markets, and represents an important support tool for more effective management and marketing in tourism. It covers content that is interesting both for the private, civil and public tourism sectors, as well as for companies and institutions only indirectly associated with tourism. The department also ensures the unimpeded operation of Turistična tiskovna agencija (TTA). TTA is a website offering to interested members of the public current, daily updated news in the area of tourism in Slovenian and English.
