In the area of Metlika, the Wine Road meanders through the villages of Bušinja vas, Lokvica, Trnovec, Grabrovec, and Metlika, and then one branch turns to Radovica and the other toward Drašiči and on to Kramčina and Vidošiči.
You can have a snack at five tourist farms and sample wine in two wine shops.
Along the trail, Bela krajina’s birch and fern groves, the warm Kolpa River, numerous education and hiking trails, and cultural and historical points of interest are waiting for you to enjoy. The old city core of Metlika, the cluster of three Gothic parish churches (“Tri Fare”) in Rosalnice, an Allied DC3 plane from World War II, and the always lively vineyard cottage in Drašiči will provide a suitable backdrop for your enological pleasures. Curious visitors will visit the exhibition on the life in Bela krajina from prehistoric times to the present at the Bela krajina Museum, the Slovene Firefighting Museum, or the Kambič Gallery.
A map of the Wine Road and a guidebook are available from the Tourist Information Center in Metlika.
