The trail is interesting geologically, since it tuns over very old Paleozoik rock. From the trail, you can see the glacial valley beneath Mount Storžič, and from viewpoint on
Bošt, Slovenia's longest mountain range, Košuta...
But above all, on this trail running above the
Dovžanova soteska gorge (22) you will learn about the
arduous life of mountain dairy farmers. You begin at trail
Na Strmc, hike to the
Pr'Tič Farm, and continue across the alpine meadows of
Spodnja Konšca (1450 m) and
Zgornja Konšca (1600 m). Inspect a typical dwelling of an
alpine dairyman and dairymaid tending on the herds during the summer and makig cheese. At the
alpine dairy farms made of timbers and covered with shingles, you can try various homemade dishes such as sour milk and žganci, homemade cheese, and cottage cheese. In Zgornja Konšca, try to find an
alpine newt in the small lakes used to water the cattle. Continue across
Gabrčv rovt, where hay is mown by hand, and across
Kotel where people once erected piles of wood to make charcoal. te trail ends at
Pod Storžičam Mountain Lodge.
