St. George Parish Church was built on the east periphery of the town and in spite of several renovations it has managed to retain its Gothic structure. In 1863 the church became Provost. Inside the church the choir pews are not only the most prominent part of the furnishing in the presbitery but also the oldest pews in Slovenia, from 1446. Under the choir stairs, erected in 1380m is a wooden Gothic statue of St. George, patron of the church and the town in general.
