Original church of St Vid in Podnanos was most probably built in the 13th century, the present one is from the second half of the 17th century. The church tower, built in Aquilean style, is one of the most beautiful in Slovenia. The Renaissance facade of the church is also one of its excellent decorations. Rich interior gives the church its greatest artistic value.

The principal altar with the image of St Vid is a magnificent, late Baroque, stone piece of art from the second half of the 18th century. From the same period are also the side altars. One of them represents the Assumption of Mary into Heaven, the other St Paul's conversion. The chapel of Mother of God, a gothic presbytery from the original church, is a very important artistical and historical masterpiece. Its arcade is decorated with corbels and bosses with relief carvings that date back to 1460.

Remains of Renaissance frescos from the end of the 15th century are an additional decoration of the chapel.
