Springing from below the Vršič Pass with several smaller streams which soon join into one stream.

It gets its water from the slopes of Mojstrovka and Prisank.

It flows along the Strma frata Valley in the direction of the source of the Soča river in a steep fall.

In its lower part it turns and flows parallel with the Soča, and under the 49th curve of the Vršič road it flows out into the Soča.
