Description: The Slovenian Coast is, within the Adriatic Sea context exceptional, due to its northern location as to its geological fundament. The Cape Madona lies directly at the Piran town core. The area of the natural monument, which in geo-morphological sense, is very interesting, is to the contrary with other protected area, surrounded with wave-breakers. Under the sea surface there lies a hard stone bottom, with scattered larger or smaller slabs of rock and monoliths, which goes along with the shore line in its entire length, slowly descending to a few meters of depth, to drop abruptly with a shear leap to the sediment bottom.
